Wonder Woman 1984 is still over a year away thanks to the date being moved from 2019 to 2020. So fans still have quite a bit of waiting to do. However, we have received some very good and interesting news. Patty Jenkins, the director of both Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 has her sights set on turning the hit DC film into a trilogy.

When speaking to Vanity Fair about her new TV series I am the Night which stars Chris Pine, who played Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and is set to appear in Wonder Woman 1984 despite being killed during World War I, Patty revealed that she is incredibly intent on completely Diana’s story.

“I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3″

Jenkins then added.

“Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that”

Despite the uncertainty behind the Wonder Woman 3 director, which I believe will still be Patty Jenkins, this is incredibly exciting news. It’s clear that Jenkins has a very clear idea of how Wonder Woman’s story should end and it is more or less confirmed that we can expect more Wonder Woman goodness. But that means that the series could end on a trilogy… or we could get more films that continue from Jenkins’ story. This could just be me, but I would absolutely love to see more Wonder Woman. However, if the trilogy ends in a truly spectacular way that makes it feel complete, then leaving it at 3 films might be a good idea. Perhaps that is what she is aiming for.

The obvious question that I’m sure is on everyone’s mind is… what is going to happen in Wonder Woman 3? Here are just a few things I would like to see happen.

I would love to see Diana meet Zeus. As a Greek myth fanatic, it would just be really cool, maybe a Zeus who visits Diana in a dream or even the great god himself in the flesh with a shining lightning bolt in his hand.

Now, I tend to dabble in and out of comic books, but a certain villain caught my eye. First Born was the first son of Zeus and Hera and was abandoned after a prophecy claimed that the child would sit on the throne of Olympus. Already I can picture an incredibly interesting dynamic between the half-siblings and what would be an awesome fight between two gods.

The final thing I would like to see is a story that takes place in the present day. Wonder Woman jumped from present day to WWI and it looks as though Wonder Woman 1984 will take place primarily in 1984. It would be great to see Diana tackle some villains in the big city, maybe with a costume upgrade, and that could give us the opportunity to look at what Diana does when she’s not tying people up with the lasso of truth.

Wonder Woman 1984 is due in the theaters on June 5th 2020. While we wait impatiently for Gal Gadot to return to the big screen, what would you like to see happen in Wonder Woman 3? Let us know in the comments below.
