‘Once Upon a Deadpool’ Trailer Debut

What happens when a Deadpool movie received a PG13 rating? It kidnaps Fred Savage in an attempt to gain an edge up in becoming something far more suitable for children of course! The only problem Wade Wilson faces is that most people don’t long for someone to kidnap them nor do they enjoy it. Point in case, Savage clearly does not appreciate Deadpool tying him to the bed. I think what we can all appreciate is the throwback to Savage’s role in The Princess Bride however. Something tells me that Wilson is a little bit different than listening to one’s grandfather read them a childhood favorite. Now I cannot help but think of Wade Wilson as a grandfather and am instantly amused by him telling the most inappropriate bedtime stories in the entire world.

The funny part of all this is remembering the reaction of fans around the internet when they announced the first Deadpool movie. The comic world feared that they would attempt to water down the merc with a mouth with a PG13 rating. Thankfully the fears were not warranted as the ratings board granted the film a R rating. However, this version of Deadpool 2 looks just as hilarious as the original version released this summer. A moment that sticks out in the trailer below as particular hilarious is the reference beloved Disney film Up. This particular moment made me laugh far more than it probably should have. It makes me have faith in the rest of the film will contain the same Deadpool humor, without the bloodshed that we are used to seeing within the films.

The even better part of all this is that every ticket contributes to a popular cancer organization who will also be changing their name to Fudge Cancer in an attempt to PG13 the organization name for the twelve day limited release as well. Once Upon a Deadpool arrives in theaters from Dec. 12 to Dec. 24. While we might be seeing a remixed version of the film we saw earlier this year, ultimately they are creating the opportunity for more money to go to cancer research and it’s never a bad thing to know you had a hand in on potentially helping someone’s life for the better. So get in the holiday spirit so Wade will finally release Fred Savage and let him have a wonderful holiday season as well.
