The Golden Globes are just around the corner and coming along with the crazy big talent and beloved films and series are your hosts – Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh. Any time that an Award ceremony chooses to have two hosts, it is imperative that they have chemistry. The Golden Globes have an exceptional track record with this thanks to their three-year pairing of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey while The Oscars are still hearing about the disaster that was James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
Well, it looks like the Globes are at it again as the first promo for Sunday’s ceremony finds Samberg and Oh already declaring themselves best friends as they attempt their new handshake. While they clearly still have some work to do, its evident that the duo has been perfectly paired up for a night of wit, charm, and fun!

The pair also has a small resume for any skeptics. They recently took the stage at this past September’s Emmy Awards where they did an adorable skit playing on the La-La Land/Moonlight fiasco from the Oscars. You can watch their full Emmy skit here! Not to mention, Samberg hosted the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards back in 2015. You can watch his opening below!
This year will find film favorites such as A Star is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Black Panther all competing for Best Drama Film with Crazy Rich Asians, Mary Poppins Returns and Vice in the Comedy category. Over in television, Amazon Prime’s Homecoming is up against Sandra Oh’s Killing Eve and the final season of The Americans. Amazon also has the chance to continue their domination in the comedy category as the darling Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been nominated in many categories as well. Are you excited about Samberg and Oh hosting the Golden Globes? Tune in on Sunday, Jan. 6 on NBC to see how they do!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
