Notable Funko Releases for March

Can you believe we are almost through February? Time flies. Even though I am more than excited to get into spring and the warmer weather it brings, Funko is giving me more of a reason to get ready for March. Here are some Pops! expected to hit the market this month, but it is always important to remember two things: release dates can change and in-store availability is not guaranteed. Happy Collecting!
The first release I wanted to highlight features one of my favorite movie franchises: Men In Black. This line was announced at the recent New York Toy Fair and should be releasing next month. With this summer’s reboot of the franchise, I would assume more M.I.B. Pops! can be expected. The current line features Agent J with Frank, Agent K with Neeble, and Edgar, who was the first film’s antagonist for those who don’t remember. Will Smith’s Agent J does have an exclusive version, and details about such specialty series release should be coming soon. You can pre-order the other three here.
The second release I wanted to mention involves one of my favorite late night hosts Conan O’Brien. This is a guy who has clearly embraced his nerd culture relevance and capitalized on its popularity. It’s funny how many people have forgotten the whole Tonight Show conflict from 2010 and how Conan’s career was thought to be over. Well, he proved those critics wrong, didn’t he? Conan’s first run of SDCC Pops! were extremely hard to come by, but each release has been a little easier to acquire. In the newer Conan Without Borders line, fans can now add Luchador Conan and Armenian Dancer Conan to their collections. These two new Pops! are exclusive to GameStop, and the website has the release date as 2/28. You can order these two new Pops! on that date or order other Conan Pops! you don’t have here.
The next release to expect in March is from the iconic film Office Space. This line was announced a few weeks ago at the London Toy Fair, and now fans can expect to own those Pops! late next month. The line features Peter, Joanna, Milton, and Lumbergh. Now, to make things even more interesting, the Emerald City Comic Con just released a limited Pop! Movie Scene exclusive featuring Michael Bolton and Samir destroying the infamous copy/printer/fax machine. ( I really don’t want to get into a debate over what type of machine was destroyed, so I’ll cover all the possibilities.) This ECCC exclusive is available at Target and at ECCC, and it has popped up in some Target locations already. You can order the regular set here.
Celebrating its 40th Anniversary, Alien will get some more Pops! centering around the first film. To celebrate the occasion, these 40th anniversary figures will come with a special sticker. Ripley will be featured in a space suit, and the villainous Xenomorph will come in a standard version, as well as a specialty series metallic blue version. Details on the specialty series exclusive are still up in the air outside of a March release. Order here.
Fans of Stephen King’s IT will be pleasantly surprised to see new Pop! featuring Pennywise release exclusively to Entertainment Earth this March. Now, the mold for this Pennywise figure is not new, but it will be a glow in the dark version. For those wanting new figures, I would think teasers for the upcoming release of IT: Chapter Two will be given early on this summer. Order this exclusive Pennywise here.
Target will make some Star Wars fans happy in March by releasing three exclusive Pops! for the franchise. Fans can add an electrocuted Darth Vader, a 10″ Wicket W. Warrick, and a flocked Baby Nippet to their collections. As with any Target release, these figures are already in their systems, so a release could be anytime throughout the month, and some locations may get these figures on the shelves before a general release date.
Other notable lines scheduled for release in March: Game of Thrones Iron Throne versions, Zoolander, Aggretsuko, and various Disney Plushes.
