No Crossover For Supergirl’s Final Season?

Crossovers are a hallmark of the Arrowverse, they’re one of the things that makes it so special. I can’t imagine the CW DC shows would be as popular without that shared universe. Those crossovers have also given us some of our best episodes and moments. Who can forget the time Oliver and Kara were Nazis? Or what about when Alex slept with Sara? These are all things we never knew we needed but loved when we got. I did, anyway, so I’m gonna write about it! We all know that the next season of Supergirl is also, unfortunately, its last. Now, the sadness just keeps on coming because there might be no crossover for Supergirl‘s final season.

No Crossover For Supergirl's Final Season?

While speaking with TVLine the Flash showrunner, Eric Wallace, spoke a little about a potential crossover. The news doesn’t sound so good.

“I wish, but… I don’t know,” Wallace revealed with a sigh. Ask the folks at Supergirl,’ not me, because that’s really out of my hands.”

I suppose I can understand, though. The current ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has affected every part of our lives, including the entertainment industry. No more than a couple of months ago we also learned the previously revealed Superman And Lois/Batwoman crossover was canceled because of the pandemic as well. It stands to reason if the same rules are still in place when Supergirl begins filming there can not be a crossover.

As unfortunate as this is I still have high hopes for Supergirl’s final season. I hope they all get together and make the best darn final season that they can. Besides, maybe all of this will end up being moot. Maybe by the time Supergirl comes around, they’ll be able to film a crossover! It would be a shame to end Supergirl without seeing her interact with Barry one last time.
