Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder Embrace Parenthood Once Again

Celebrity couple Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have officially become parents of two! On Thursday, the Twilight actress joyfully announced that she and her husband, known for his role in The Vampire Diaries, recently welcomed their second child—a baby boy—in the comfort of their own home. The newest addition joins their 5-year-old daughter, Bodhi.

Sharing the exciting news on her Instagram Story, Reed expressed her happiness, describing the birth as one of the most beautiful moments of her life. Accompanying her heartfelt words was a tender image of her newborn son’s tiny hand. “Born at home in water and surrounded by so much love, in an instant, my heart doubled in size,” she wrote.

Reed, who maintains strong boundaries with social media, especially regarding her children, took the opportunity to thank her followers in advance for respecting those boundaries and sending positive and loving energy. She also gave a special acknowledgment to her midwife and doctors for their guidance in bringing their precious son into the world.

In January, Reed and Somerhalder revealed that they were expecting their second child together. Somerhalder expressed his desire for a large family, thanking Reed for granting him that wish in an Instagram post featuring a photo of Reed cradling their daughter while embracing her growing baby bump. “Thank you, thank you to this incredible human for the gift of life and love, for being the most incredible mom and working so hard to make dreams come true!” he wrote.

Renowned for their roles in vampire-themed projects, with Reed portraying Rosalie Hale in the Twilight films and Somerhalder playing Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries, the couple first crossed paths on the set of the latter series. They got engaged in January 2015 and tied the knot in a romantic ceremony at Topanga Canyon in Malibu, California, in April of the same year. Their first child was born in 2017, and now their family has expanded with the arrival of their precious baby boy.
