Nielsen Social Ratings: June 5 – June 11

Another week, another top 10!

Taking the number one spot was Sunday’s 71st Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Kevin Spacey and included performances by critically acclaimed shows Dear Evan Hansen, The Great Comet, Miss Saigon, Come From Away, Falsettos, and more. The Nielsen Social chart topper took over a million interactions.

In the number two spot was America’s Got Talent, which featured the musical stylings Mandy Harvey. Last week’s outing earned the variety show 936,000 interactions. The 2017 CMT Music Awards earned 758,000 interactions.

As the summer season continues, the Nielsen Social Ratings indicate as much, with only two scripted dramas on the top 10. Pretty Little Liars came in at number five while Gotham got the number nine spot.

As a refresher: the Content Ratings use the total number of social interactions across Facebook and Twitter to rank the top 10 series/specials and sporting events, separately. The chart includes uniques, which are “unique social media accounts that have authored original content related to a linear TV episode or engaged with that content,” and interactions, which are “original social media posts related to a linear TV episode and the engagement with that content.”
