Remember about ten years ago when all those celebrity homes were being robbed by a group of teenagers who were referred to as the Bling Ring? The events later inspired a 2013 movie starring Emma Watson and now the story is inspiring another big screen venture called Echo Boomers.
According to Variety, the film is set to star Love, Simon’s Nick Robinson, Tomorrowland’s Britt Robertson, Magic Mike’s Alex Pettyfer, and The Shape of Water’s Michael Shannon. The logline for the film reveals that Echo Boomers “centers around a group of disillusioned twentysomethings, who break into and steal from the homes of the rich.”
The movie will be directed and written by Seth Savoy with Byron Wetzel, Sean Kaplan, Mike Ware, Jeff Waxman, and James Langer on board to produce.
Robinson is known for his role in Love, Simon, a touching film about a teenage boy’s coming out a story as well as Jurassic World and Everything, Everything. Shannon recently appeared in the Academy Award-winning The Shape of Water and will soon be appearing alongside Alexander Skarsgard on the AMC mini-series The Little Drummer Girl. Robertson is currently starring on Shonda Rhimes’ latest TV venture For the People on ABC and toplined Netflix’s original series Girlboss last year.
What do you think about Echo Boomers? Do you remember the Bling Ring scandal? Let us know!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
