New ‘Dracula’ Series on BBC From Sherlock Team

Looks like the creative team that brought us Sherlock will be taking on Bram Stoker’s Dracula and making it into a series.

Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss will reunite to write the new series which will also be produced by Sue Vertue and Hartswood Films. The two writers have not worked alongside each other since the last episode of Sherlock.

Much like Sherlock, Dracula will have the same feature-length episodes and run like a miniseries.

Not much is known at this moment. BBC is already in talks with both Moffat and Gatiss who are currently working on solo projects. No scripts have been written as of yet and casting will come in the future.

Actor/screenwriter Gatiss has worked Game of Thrones as well as Sherlock portraying Holmes’ brother. Moffat was executive producer and wrote for Doctor Who for 6 seasons.

With so many Dracula remakes, reboots, retellings, and adaptations, hopefully, Moffat and Gatiss will collaborate to really pull this off.
