There’s so much to choose from when it comes to watching something new, with hit series like Marvel and Star Wars, exciting and informative documentaries produced by Nat Geo and the Disney Parks, as well as a slew of classic movies. And there will be another show added to that list soon!
Today, Disney revealed the casting list for a new series on Disney+ called American Born Chinese, which will begin production in early August. With a cast that includes Michelle Yeoh (Marvel’s Shang-Chi), Ben Wang (MacGyver), and Yeo Yann Yann (Wet Season), the series will have some fantastic actors.
We also have Daniel Wu (Reminiscence), Ke Huy Quan (Finding ‘Ohana), former Taekwondo champion Jim Liu, and Sydney Taylor (Just Add Magic) on the list. Jin Wang is a typical teenager dealing with his high school social life and his family life. On the first day of school, he encounters a new foreign student, and “Jin is inadvertently caught up in a Chinese mythical god conflict.”
The series will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and executive produced by him, along with Kelvin Yu.Along with them will be Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan, Erin O’Malley, Asher Goldstein, and Gene Luen Yang.
