Netflix: Frank Langella Facing Investigation for Alleged Harassment on ‘The Fall of House of Usher’ Set

On the set of Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher, legendary film star Frank Langella is being investigated for sexual misconduct.

TMZ first reported the news, claiming that the 84-year-old has been accused of inappropriate conduct and Netflix has launched an investigation to figure out what occurred before making a decision on further action.

According to reports, Langella allegedly made an offensive sexual remark and touched a female co-star on the leg and then asked, “Did you enjoy it?,” sparking a complaint. Netflix is mum on the case; only stating that “We don’t comment on active employment issues.” Langella’s representatives also had no comment.

It’s possible that we’ll never know what occurred on the set or what measures, if any, will be taken against Langella as a result of this. Those involved evidently felt the situation was serious enough to launch an extensive inquiry into it.

Whatever else may come of it, it does not appear to have affected the production of the program, as Langella was not expected to film any scenes this week.

Langella hasn’t previously been accused of such things, but he is known for being sexually liberal. In 2012, he put out the tell-all book Dropped Names: Famous Men and Women As I Knew Them, which the New York Times Book Review called “being flirted with for a whole party by the hottest person in the room” and noted his habit of dropping dirty jokes.

More on this case as we learn more.
