Netflix Cancels ‘Friends From College’ After Two Seasons
Well, it looks like the gang will not be back for round three. Hot on the heels of the cancellations for The Punisher and Jessica Jones, Netflix has decided to cancel Friends From College after two seasons on the streaming service. Series co-creator Nicholas Stoller announced the news on Twitter.
Friends from College will not be returning for a third season. Thanks to everyone who watched it. Happy Presidents’ Day!

While season one wasn’t met with the best critical reviews and currently holds a 24% on Rotten Tomatoes, season two of the series featured vast improvements both in story-telling and likability. Not to mention, it left on a semi-cliffhanger. The half-hour comedy, which followed the messy and intertwined lives of a group of college friends, told stories that were relatable alongside some sharp and witty humor. It also had fantastic performances and great ensemble chemistry from stars Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Fred Savage, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon, Jae Suh Park and Billy Eichner.
[row]“We’re grateful to creators Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco for creating a wise, funny and supremely relatable show. We also want to thank the hard-working crew, and we raise a glass to the amazingly talented cast,” Netflix said in a statement.[/row]
Despite not being the most popular series on the platform, fans really came out on social media to express their distaste with the decision.
How in the world did @netflix cancel #FriendsFromCollege -my day is ruined.

Dear @netflix, you can’t start a show like #friendsfromcollege and then just cancel it right when we find out Lisa is pregnant. We have grown to love these people and it is extremely disrespectful to cut us off from these people who we have invested so much time in.

Were you a fan of Friends From College? Are you sad to see it canceled?
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
