On August 22nd, Netflix announced the newest comedy series coming to the internet television network.  Friends from College, an eight-episode show, comes from husband and wife team Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco and production will begin in New York this fall.  The pair will not only write and produce Friends from College, Stoller is also going to direct the Netflix exclusive.

A group of friends from college, Harvard specifically, will be the focus of the series as they stare down their forties and become acutely aware of their success, areas without it, complicated and interwoven relationships, as well as the struggle to balance life in the present with a longing for the past.  There will be laughs, tears, and some personal realizations as they reflect on their lives together and what their futures will hold.

Delbanco and Stoller both attended Harvard themselves, so the series will be true to the experience there as they direct the cast through the episodes.  With names like Cobie Smulders, Annie Parisse, Fred Savage, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jae Suh Park; Friends from College is going to be a knockout from episode one!  The characters played by the all-stars named above will be relatable for fans all over the world and bring a sense of humor and emotion to the roles they play that viewers will find pieces of themselves in easily.

Stoller is no stranger to comedy, having credit on films like Neighbors and Neighbors 2, Get Him to the Greek, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall; he never misses the mark and we’re sure Friends from College will be no different.

Cindy Holland, Netflix VP of Original Content, had this to say about Stoller working on Friends from College.

“Nick is a comedic mastermind. With Friends from College, he and Francesca have created a world that is both moving and very, very funny. We are thrilled to be working with them and this incredible cast, and look forward to audiences around the world laughing with and at these relatable characters.”
