It seems like it has been way too long since we last saw Matt Murdock take the screens and hit the streets as the devil of Hell’s Kitchen. We last saw the hero in 2017 when The Defenders aired its first season and now, Netflix has confirmed that there are indeed plans in motion to have a Daredevil Season Three.
Jessica Jones and Luke Cage Season 2 have already made their grand debut on Netflix, and have received a strand of raving reviews from the critics. Iron Fist will debut it’s second season in the fall, and now Daredevil will join that roster with a release date sometime in 2018. Despite rumors of a 2019 release, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos confirmed that new episodes of Daredevil will hit the streaming service before the year is out.
During the Netflix Q2 earnings video, Sarandos discussed his plans to bring back new seasons of several beloved Netflix shows in the second half of 2018 – which includes Daredevil.
“In the short term, we’ve got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer.”
The good news, is that we are for sure confirmed to have Daredevil back this year. The bad news, we will just have to wait a little bit longer for our confirmation of the official 2018 release date. Iron Fist Season 2 debuts on September 7th, so if I had to guess, I would aim for a November or December release date. Happy Holidays to all Marvel fans!
