National Geographic Announces Series Starring Jeff Goldblum, Gordon Ramsey and More

During the TCA summer press tour on Wednesday, National Geographic announced a few new upcoming shows it will add to the lineup. On top of the list is the new docu-series titled The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum where Nat Geo and Jeff Goldblum have collaborated. The docu-series which is produced by Nat Geo and has Brian Lovett as the executive producer revolves around Goldblum’s investigation of the world’s most extraordinary “ordinary” things. Goldblum’s primary goal is to figure out how they were made, how we got them, and how they continue to impact our daily lives.

The next show is Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted which is produced by Studio Ramsay. The series which will premiere globally in 2019 will begin production this fall. The celebrity chef will go on a journey to discover the most incredible people, places and flavors that the world has to offer.

There was also a revelation in the announcement that the new scripted miniseries; The Hot Zone, will be produced by Scott Free Productions, Lynda Obst Productions, Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson, Jeff Vintar and Fox 21 Television Studios. Julianna Margulies is set to star in the new series which will be shot in South Africa and Toronto. Production is scheduled to begin this fall. The miniseries is based on the international bestseller by Richard Preston; The Hot Zone and it recounts the true story of the origins of the Ebola virus.

In addition, they renewed One Strange Rock for the second season. The host and narrator of Hostile Planet will be played by survivalist and adventurer Bear Grylls, and in Star Talk, Neil deGrasse Tyson will air interviews with the likes of Anthony Bourdain, Jeff Goldblum, George R.R. Martin, Al Gore, Joe Rogan, Patricia Cornwell, Weird Al Yankovic, Bill Nye, Dan Rather, Jack Black, James Marsden and more.
