Natalie Portman Joins Original Musical ‘Vox Lux’

Natalie Portman has signed on to star the in the new original musical Vox Lux, according to Variety. She takes the place of Rooney Mara who was originally supposed to star. The movie will follow a pop star named Celeste who rises to fame “from the ashes of a major national tragedy. The film will span 15 years starting in 1999 and will show “important cultural moments through the singer’s eyes” all the way through present day. Jude Law is also signed on for a leading role as well.
All of the film’s original music will be written by Grammy Award winner Sia. Andrew Lauren, D.J. Gugenheim, Christine Vachon, David Hinojosa, Michel Litvak, Gary Michael Walters, David Litvak and Svetlana Metkina will produce Vox Lux with backing from Bold Films.
