At the MTV Video Music Awards 2022, Johnny Depp surprised fans with a surprise appearance. The Moonman award was introduced by Johnny Depp as an astronaut descended from the ceiling of the Prudential Center. His face appeared virtually inside its helmet as an astronaut floated down from the ceiling of the Prudential Center.
“I just want you guys to know I’m available for birthdays, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes – any old thing you need,” Depp said in the brief appearance, opening the Moonperson visor to say during a commercial break.
“Hey VMAs, let’s get back to the f– music, shall we?”

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor was said to be “really excited” to make a “comeback” at this year’s VMAs. Depp made his first public appearance since he won his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. The actor sued the 36-year-old actress after she wrote an opinion piece on sexual violence for the Washington Post in 2018.
According to Depp, the allegations of abuse triggered a financial loss in the tens of millions of dollars. The jury agreed unanimously that he was owed $15 million in damages, and Heard was ordered to pay it. The verdict was appealed by Heard, who argued that the evidence did not support the conclusion. Depp claims that Heard’s accusations are untrue.
After a quarter of a century, the Alice in Wonderland star is returning to directing with a film about the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. Furthermore, Depp has agreed to a multi-year promotional deal with Dior worth seven figures for their bestselling Sauvage cologne.
