More ‘Inhumans’ Show Details Revealed

Less than 24 hours since Marvel announced that they’d be bringing Inhumans to ABC next fall (and IMAX screens beforehand), the pieces are finally coming together to give fans an idea of what to expect from the new Marvel show.

Today a couple tidbits of technical information were revealed about Inhumans. The initial episode order from ABC calls for eight episodes. This is very much in line with Marvel’s second foray into broadcast television, when Marvel’s Agent Carter aired ten episodes in its first season. Of course, the first two episodes of Inhumans will screen in IMAX theaters as a film presentation before the series debuts on ABC in late September. Depending on ratings, more episodes could be added to its first season total.

However, the major question has been if Marvel was totally calling off the summer tent-pole being developed for summer 2019. While very much unconfirmed what the movie’s status is, we can confirm that the television series is not any sort of adaptation of the planned Phase 3 movie. That project may be on the back burner, but has yet to be shelved permanently. The storyline on Inhumans will have a direct impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well and will not serve as a companion series to Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. at all.

As more details emerge, we’ll continue to report them. Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Ghost Rider airs Tuesday nights at 10pm om ABC. Inhumans will debut on IMAX screens across the country next summer before kicking off its inaugural season next September on ABC.
