Morbius: Jared Leto Says He and Spider-Man’s Tom Holland Have “A Date with Destiny”

The first full-length trailer for Morbius raised more questions than it answered, with the video including links to at least four separate franchises with connections to Spider-Man.
Despite the fact that we’re only two weeks away from the film’s release, things haven’t gotten much clearer. Before the stinger of No Way Home confirmed the notion, we all thought the post-credits sequence of Venom: Let There Be Carnage had connected Sony and Marvel’s universes.
However, Homecoming villain Michael Keaton is expected to appear in Morbius as Adrian Toomes, so it’s likely that the Living Vampire and Peter Parker of Tom Holland’s Marvel character will cross paths sooner rather than later.
Leto admitted to ScreenRant that he believes he has a date with destiny when it comes to his character colliding with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man:
“Well, I think Tom Holland and I have a date with destiny. By the way, just a phenomenal actor, and what a great Spider-Man. I really think he’s just a terrific talent. But it would be great to get in the ring with him and go head to head.”
Sony has a long-term strategy in mind for where this all may lead, with a Sinister Six spinoff appearing as the most likely outcome on paper. On the bright side, that implies Leto should return to play Morbius at least once more, even if his solo blockbuster isn’t what fans are hoping for nor expecting.
