Michael Cudlitz has hinted at a possible return to The Walking Dead as Sergeant Abraham Ford.
Cudlitz appeared at Wizard World New Orleans in January along with several other Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead cast members, including Ross Marquand, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, Cailey Fleming, Mo Collins, Kirk Acevedo, and Jenna Elfman.
It was announced last week that Austin Amelio would actually be jumping over to Fear The Walking Dead as Dwight, and fans are now curious about other charcaters. According to comicbook.com, Cudlitz was asked if we’d ever see his popular character again, despite having been clubbed to death by Negan in season seven.
“Who knows, maybe there’ll be flashbacks?” he answered.
He then referred to something that appeared on Fear The Walking Dead,
“I guess on your guys’ show, there were some tapes that were shown and one of the tapes said ‘Abe-slash-Doctor,’ which would be Abraham Ford and Doctor Eugene Porter according to Robert Kirkman, so they could certainly go down that road. Not saying they said anything about it or not, but probably not, so I think we’ll stop talking about that. Never mind.”
The two were known to have traveled together for the first part of the apocalypse, as Eugene was claiming to have the answer to curing the apocalypse.
The tapes were brought up on the Talking Dead aftershow after that episode, saying that the label does have meaning. He said all the labels will tell a story.
“They’re all stories that Al has captured at one point or another in her travels,” Goldberg said. “And if you look closely, some of those names might ring a bell if you’re a fan of the Walking Dead universe, [and] you might get excited about some of the stories that she’s captured.”
He was already back to direct episode 907, “Stradivarius”, and has expressed his desire to come back to direct again. He is currently starring on ABC’s The Kids Are Alright. He
Having Cudlitz return as a character on Fear wouldn’t make sense for the timeline, (he’s dead currently) so we’d be seeing him in a flashback if he ever were to come back.
The Walking Dead returns February 10th on AMC. Fear the Walking Dead returns spring of 2019.
