Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is easily one of the most anticipated films of all time, and fans couldn’t wait to pour into theaters to see the movie this weekend. Packed audiences filled theater after theater with excitement, joy, and room to believe in themselves again.
While children have a lot to learn from the movie, adults do too, and that’s been the talk of social media this weekend. From chasing dreams and embracing brilliance to being strong and fighting for what’s right – there are some important underlying messages in the film.
So we can’t say that we’re surprised. It’s incredible to see it all written out in numbers, but there was no way after the build-up for months or the opening night results that Black Panther‘s opening weekend wouldn’t be huge.
As ComScore reports, the film drew in $192 million by the close of Sunday. With President’s Day giving many a long weekend, those numbers are set to further increase in a big way.
So take a friend, buy a ticket for someone at the theater, or go watch it alone, but whatever you do – get there. You won’t want to miss Black Panther, but you definitely don’t want to miss it right now. Alongside an audience of fans who love it as much as you do.
