Marvel: ‘Secret Invasion’ Behind-the-Scenes Set Photos Reveal All of the Main Characters

Secret Invasion, an upcoming Disney Plus program, has the potential to upend a lot of what we think we know about the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It was adapted from the 2000s comic arc of the same name, which revealed that Earth had been quietly and stealthily invaded by a Skrull sect e, who have replaced Marvel’s heroes one by one over many years.

In the comics, Elektra, Hank Pym, Captain Marvel, Mockingbird, and Spider-Woman were all aliens who had been hiding it for a long time. The MCU will most likely select a different group of characters to mix things up.

The shoot is now underway in the United Kingdom, with scenes set in London, Leeds, and Halifax. We’ve already seen some of our protagonists throughout the film’s runtime, but today’s was a fantastic look at Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and Kingsley Ben-Adir. Take a peek:

This is an unusual appearance for Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the film, as it isn’t the sleek, black-clad secret agent we’ve previously seen in previous installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He might have gone deep undercover after discovering that Skrulls had infiltrated the highest levels of human society based on his beard.

Since they’ve been working together for so long, it’s probable that Smulders’ Maria Hill will join the film as well. Though we don’t know much about Ben-Adir’s new role at the moment.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige has likely been planning this narrative for a while, and he’ll have known which previous Marvel Cinematic Universe characters were Skrulls ahead of time.

With that in mind, it’s worth looking back at the previous several years of movies and TV to see who’s been acting strangely. Fan theories suggest that General Thunderbolt Ross, Hank Pym, and Nakia are all members, so keep an eye on them in future roles.

Secret Invasion is set to air on Disney Plus in late 2022.
