In addition to the announcement that the highly anticipated Mayans MC would be premiering on September 4, FX also revealed when the next installment of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series American Horror Story would be hitting the small screen. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 12 at 10/9c and prepare to dive back into the worlds of Season 1’s Murder House and Season 3’s Coven as season 8 will be a crossover of the two!

The show’s official Twitter page made the announcement with the caption “Not Long Now.” Check it out below!

Season 1 of AHS, which aired way back in 2011, starred Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga and Denis O’Hare. Out of that cast Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, both of whom also appeared in Coven, are confirmed to be returning for season 8 and from season 3’s witch-inspired season Coven, Kathy Bates is expected to be reprising her role as Madame Delphine LaLaurie. According to Murphy though, fans should expect to see some more familiar faces.

“You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five.”

We will be sure to keep you updated on cast announcements as Murphy reveals them but for now, be sure to clear your calendar on September 12th for the season 8 premiere!
