Maisie Williams Teases Tough Times Ahead in ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams appeared on This Morning with Phillip and Holly earlier this week and, in her delightful interview, dropped some tiny morsels of information regarding the upcoming 7th season.

Williams was there to promote her new Netflix film iBoy but, when you have Arya Stark from Game of Thrones on your show, even if you know it’s pointless, of course you’re going to try to get some information out of her.  So, Phillip and Holly gave it a go.

Phillip tries to take a bit of a different approach in asking for information.  He says, “I know that it’s pointless, me asking you what happens because you’ve done these sort of interviews before…. How much can you tell me?”

Williams seems eager to answer but doesn’t give up much in the end:

“This year it really kind of heats up. Coming to the end of last season, the final episodes, it really just felt like we were setting up for the final – This year, everyone gets their trials and everyone get theirs tribulations, which is excellent. Particularly for Arya, there’s some really high points. There’s some really low points, too.”

Which gets a giggle out of Holly who adds, “and there are some really middle points.”  You can’t blame them for trying!

Last summer, after completing a read of the season 7 script, Williams tweeted that nothing will prepare you for what’s to come and, since that sounds kind of scary, maybe we’re better off not knowing anything for right now.

Williams did, however, speak in more detail regarding her friendship with co-star Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark.  While Williams and Turner haven’t spent much time on screen together, they became instant friends, almost like sisters, as Williams explains:

“It’s been really wonderful to have someone else who is my own age, and who also was just plucked out of seemingly normal life with no sort of acting background. It’s nice to sort of have her going through this industry… someone else who completely gets it. She’s like my big sister.”

We can’t WAIT to see what season 7 of Game of Thrones has in store.  Check out the full interview from This Morning featuring Maisie Williams below:
