‘LOST’ Star Ready For Reboot and Return To The Island

We have to go back! A reboot of LOST, one of the greatest shows ever on television, just got the support of one of its biggest stars, Elizabeth Mitchell.  In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mitchell threw her name in for the return to the mysterious island and show that changed television.

Mitchell told Entertainment Tonight that she’d do it, “in a heartbeat.” She does recognize and discuss the challenges of such a reboot. As well, Mitchell would love to reunited with the cast and producer, Damon Lindelof, of whom Mitchell said, “had an amazing mind.”

She continued, “I really loved it. At first, everyone was like, ‘That’s a little weird what you’re doing,’ and I was like, ‘Well, I’m just gonna keep doing it, we’ll see, we’ll see what happens,'” Mitchell revealed to the outlet. “Where would Juliet be? Well, the afterlife, obviously, and, as far as working with all those people again? In a heartbeat.”

Rumors have been swirling for some time on the show’s potential return.  In 2017, Lindelof address the rumors in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “As it relates to Lost, which was so heavily serialized, I do think it’s somewhat of a betrayal to go back in and say there’s more story to tell that I just came up with now, especially when we had ample time to end it on our own terms,” Lindelof says.

“[Executive producer] Carlton [Cuse] and I always said that we welcome any future crack at the [intellectual property]. Lost was bigger than us and bigger than [co-creator] J.J. [Abrams]. There’s something really exciting about the fact that George Lucas sold the Star Wars universe and now the people who grew up watching it are making it. Maybe the same thing could be said for Lost.”

Also, Evangeline Lilly, who played Kate, also spoke with Entertainment Weekly, but was not nearly as supportive. “My honest answer is I hope not,” says Lilly. “I really am that person who felt like we could have left well enough alone with a lot of these franchises, and I am die-hard fan of the original Star Wars movies, you know, and sometimes I think you can devalue the original content. I think that can happen, and I would hate to see that happen with Lost. I read a quote recently that said, I’ve never done an adaptation because the book is good enough as it is.”

We certainly hope that this campaign picks up steam and that a return to the island of LOST is inevitable.  The show was so massively popular that ABC has to give it another chance.

  1. Idk about a new lost because I do think it wouldn’t be as good as the 1st. But I do think that the 1st lost should do a come back with a rerun of the first show. That would be awesome
