In an announcement that nobody was expecting, Nintendo revealed during their Nintendo Direct presentation that they are remaking their classic The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo Switch and what’s even better – they already had a trailer!
The game, originally released on the Game Boy back in 1993, was the first Zelda release on a hand held system. Later the game was re-released as The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX for the Game Boy Color with an exclusive dungeon and color visuals. Since it’s first release the game has remained a shining beacon of all that is great about the Zelda series boasting great dungeons, fun game play, and an interesting story set outside of Hyrule for the first time in the series.
Here are a few pictures from the announcement trailer:
While little is known about this new remake, we do know that it will be coming out sometime in 2019. For now, the announcement trailer will have to hold us over until we can get our hands on the game.
