Last week on Legion we started to get some answers to some of season two’s burning questions. Now in any other show that would mean something but with Legion answers lead to bigger questions pretty much putting us back at square one. In any other show that would be frustrating but with Legion that lack of understanding is part of the fun.
We now know that the Monk was spreading the chattering virus that has infected Division III, including Kerry and Syd who have yet to be freed by David. While the Monk knows where Farouk’s body is he also knows that David is being used by the Shadow King. As of right now, there’s no real way to tell if this is a good or bad thing as everything is so vague. Future Syd says David needs to help the Shadow King find his body while everything else seems like that’s a terrible idea. The Monk refuses to help David and jumps off the roof of Division III because he fears David to be the ultimate weapon (Future Syd problems maybe?). I think it’s safe to say he’s dead but dead characters have an interesting way of popping up in Legion. Mostly in David’s head.
As mentioned before Syd has the chattering virus and last week’s episode ended with David entering her mind in the hopes of freeing her. We saw that these mind mazes consist of the deep desires of the characters within them. With Melanie, it was her dream of not being at the forefront of everything. With Ptonomy it was his ability to forget everything. It was interesting how these mazes contradicted the powers that each of these characters has whether it be leadership or a mutation. I can only imagine what Syd’s head will be like. All those years without physical human contact. Maybe we’ll learn a little more about the music box.
Elsewhere Kerry and Cary have rejoined even though Kerry has the chattering virus. I really love the relationship of these two. I hope nothing terrible happens to them.
Division III is in ruins, again, and I’m starting to get the feeling that the Vermillion are on to David a bit. I think Melanie is too but I’m not sure if she cares or not. She’s so lost this season.
Lenny wants freedom but the Shadow King refuses to let her go. What role does she have to play still?
What’s the deal with Future Syd and can we trust her? She seemed a little pushy last week telling David to hurry. Made me think there’s a bit of an ulterior motive here. I want to trust her but… I want to trust her.
What’s up with the cow? Seriously? Does anyone have anything on this one? I’m still thinking it’s related to the Monk somehow but I honestly don’t know.
There you have it Geeklings. Legion keeps on bringing that trippy weirdness and we keep devouring it in the hopes that our brains don’t explode. What do you think is going to happen tonight? Will we learn more about Syd both future and present? Will we get any closer to finding the Shadow King’s body? Sound off in the comments.
