Legends of Tomorrow: Maisie Richardson-Sellers Comments on Her New Role for Season 4

During the cast-and-crew panel at San Diego Comic Con, Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Amaya Jiwe, aka Vixen) broke the silence on her mysterious new role for Season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow. The last time we saw Amaya, she had made the decision to return to her own timeline. It was unknown if Richardson-Sellers would return for the show’s fourth season, but the actress tweeted a couple of weeks ago that she would be back, and now we know how.

Richardson-Sellers will play Charlie, a British character who was released from the portal the Legends opened in order to release (and defeat) Mallus. It will be difficult for the team, especially Nate, when they first meet her because she will look exactly like their beloved friend Once they realize that she was locked away, they will have to determine if she’s a friend or foe. Richardson-Sellers commented on the new character, saying:

“She’s a rebel without a cause. She’s on her mission. She goes on a journey of self-discovery. She’s been locked up as long as she can remember.”

Richardson-Sellers joined Legends of Tomorrow in Season 2 when she stowed aboard the Waverider and accused the Legends of murdering her teammate and love, Rex Tyler. Last season, Amaya struggled with the decision to remain in her own time period as she had fallen in love with Nate and knew that she was destined to die a horrible death. Legends wrapped up Amaya’s story in Season 3, so it will be great to have Richardson-Sellers back in a different capacity.

Legends of Tomorrow returns Monday, October 22, on The CW.
