Leaked ‘Avengers 4’ Title Most Likely False

Marvel Studios fans have fervently searched to know any and all details about next year’s sequel to Avengers: Infinity War, leading some to speculate that they discovered the secretive movie’s title. Some might think that the film’s cinematographer, Trent Opaloch, might have slipped the real name of Avengers 4 on his website, but the specific title would go against something the directors Joe and Anthony Russo have previously said.

Opaloch made many fans ears perk up when he updated his website saying that he was working on a film supposedly titled “Avengers: End Game.” This is the phrase the Doctor Strange utters just before Thanos’ snap dissolves him into thin air, so many fans thought they had figured out the title.

Alas, in May, co-director Joe Russo confirmed to Uproxx that the film’s title would indeed not be based on any lines from the film. denied the film’s title would be based on a line of dialogue in Avengers: Infinity War while speaking with Uproxx. So basically, we can pretty much rule out Avengers: End Game as the title of the fourth Avengers installment.
Nothing is ever final until the heroes hit the big screen, so the Russo brothers could really say anything they want to to sway fans in different directions. They obviously don’t want anything spoiled beforehand.

Since End Game rumors began circulation last week, Opalach has changed the title on his resume back to Avengers 4. The best thing about fans is that we keep our eye on these things and who know, we could have all speculated this title and even triggered a title change from the powers that be. We may not ever know what the End Game change was about, but alas, we will wait for the title reveal anyway.

Kevin Feige told IGN,

“I’ve said before, it’s gotten entirely out of hand, and now will have no chance to living up to any expectations of what it’s gonna be. And it sort of backfired, if I’m honest with you, because the notion was to not talk about it so the focus was to be on [Infinity War].”

The speculation for Avengers 4 is anticipated as much as the first, and even more so to find out what happened to some of our beloved heroes during Thanos’ snap. The films were originally meant to just be part 1 and 2, and there are also rumors that the snap was initially going to happen in the second film. Things are always changing fans! Keep your ears perked!

Avengers 4 hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
