‘Labyrinth’ The Board Game Now available for Pre-Order

It’s been 30 years since David Bowe’s fantasy classic Labyrinth was released, and even though the film was released years ago, the fan-base has continued to grow. DailyDot has reported that River Horse Games recently announced that preorders are live on the Labyrinth board game, which will be shipping later this summer.

The official game description reads:

Will Sarah manage to defeat Jareth and his Labyrinth, or will the Goblin King turn little Toby into a goblin babe? You have thirteen hours to find out! Play with up to four friends in this fun family board game based on the classic Labyrinth movie by Jim Henson.

River Horse announced preorders just a few weeks for a Labyrinth game on their official Facebook page.

Fans were so excited to see the game finally for sale that River Horse’s website crashed several times just hours after the announcement of the preorder sales.

“Wow, I have to say a huge thank you to everybody that supported us with the game pre-order since yesterday—it has been quite a roller coaster ride!” wrote the game’s creator, Alessio Cavatore, in a Facebook post the next morning. “Please bear with us if we are slow in responding to your many emails, but as well as the server, our email systems are melting… Yes, we have kinda broken the internet a bit, at least our little corner of it… a bit chaotic, but very very exciting—thanks a lot!”

The game will retail for $50, and it comes with highly detailed play pieces and will guide players on a journey to solve the Labyrinth just as Sarah did to save her baby brother, Toby, in the movie.

Will this board game be making your shelves this summer??
