‘Krypton’ Cancelled After 2 Seasons

Syfy’s Krypton has been cancelled after two seasons.

The show focused on Superman’s grandfather Seg-El who is tasked with saving Krypton and the future. The series starred Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Georgina Campbell as Lyta-Zod, Colin Salmon as General Zod and Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange.

Season 2 of the hit show finished airing on August 14th after a spectacular season finale that teased a very promising future…. A future that has been taken away.

Cameron Cuffe shared his thoughts on Instagram:

However, fans began expressing their feelings concerning the cancellation and soon the hashtag

Began trending. Shortly after Cam Welsh, who was the showrunner and executive producer of Krypton, decided to share his gratitude.

I’m incredibly moved by the outpouring of support from fans all over the world, and to see #SaveKrypton trending on the day the news was announced was, paradoxically, both heartbreaking and heartening. Heartbreaking because it confirmed that most of you feel the same way all of us making the show do – we’re not ready to say goodbye to these characters and we’re just as hungry as you to see this story through. Heartening because if a few years of working on Krypton has taught me anything, it’s that ‘hope’ is a powerful force, capable of defying the most impossible odds.

Now, I don’t want to get peoples hopes up but this might not be the end of Krypton. Much like other cancelled shows, like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, there is a possibility that another platform could grab it. There is no guarantee, but it’s definitely within the realm of possibility.

Cam Welsh also decided to share a sneak peak of how Season 3 would have started. You can check it out right here and oh boy is it awesome!

Season 3 sounds like a beautiful love child between Brightburn and Superman: Red Son.

The next question to ask is whether Krypton is gone for good.

It is indeed possible that Krypton could return. If Superman has taught us anything, it is to have hope even when there is none. Continue showing your support by using #SaveKrypton. It may not seem like it does a lot but Krypton was such a great exploration of an incredibly vast mythology and audiences loved it. Showing your support could make a difference.

Do you think Krypton should be saved? Let us know in the comments.

  1. WTF!
Who are these idiots running “tv” these days? Seriously, SO MANY great shows have been cancelled for seemingly no (good) reason in the last few years.
You idiots better watch out or you’ll all be out of a job when people finally get fed up and go do their things with their time than watch tv. Why bother investing your time in something when in the end it just ends up in disappointment?
Gonna go play guitar now…. losers

  2. Please Let the powers that be and save krypton. It’s a great show and it would be a shame to have such a unique Program be shelved. Syfy needs to Reconsider and Kneel before ZOD!!!
