‘Game of Thrones’: Kit Harington Has Officially Ditched the John Snow Hair

Kit Harington’s famous John Snow locks are officially gone, and it’s the end of an era.

Harington was actually stuck with the hair due to contractual obligations with HBO during Game of Thrones lifespan. Now he has finally stepped out sporting a much shorter do.

Harington has been done filming for the series since July, but it seems he is now ready to say goodbye.

I’ve actually just wrapped on Thursday last week, and it’s just been this amazing journey. I kinda said to them on my wrap speech that it’s always been more than a job. They were a family and it was my life. I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve been quite emotional last week thinking about having ended, having finished it,” he reflected.
He even mentioned his hair in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2017,

“I’d like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognizable as the character, and go do and some other things with a completely new look and tone. Short-short. The beard will be harder to get rid of — I quite like the beard. I like having the long hair and beard both, but it will be like ritualistic thing. I can’t go into my next role looking the same. This role was brilliant, but I’ll need to get rid of Jon Snow.”

If you aren’t ready to say goodbye, we will surely have more stories just like his audition story to keep us warm in Westeros.
“I had a black eye on my first audition going in for Jon Snow…In a fight in McDonald’s, as you do. Which I lost, really badly, so I wasn’t tough at all. But I feel like somewhere that guy who gave me that black guy might have helped me play a hard man on TV, so it sort of backfired for him.”

Harington also met his wife Rose Leslie on the show, who played his lover and Wildling, Ygritte.

Do you dig the new do?

Game of Thrones returns for it’s 8th and final season in April of 2019. There is a spinoff already in development.
