The Dragon is not going anywhere!
Kirk Acevedo, who plays Arrow villain Ricardo Diaz, was promoted to season 7 series regular, EW reported Friday.
Initially, Diaz was introduced as a member of Cayden James’ crew of villains in the sixth season of the series starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen. He quickly rose to becomes the main villain of the season and of Team Arrow, and took over Star City. By the end of season six, Oliver and his company joined the FBI to put a stop to his evil acts, but he got away. This will allow him to be the first villain in Arrow’s history to carry over from one season to another.
The team got the city back, but it took Oliver admitting that he is Green Arrow and reveal himself to authorities.
In season 7, Oliver will be in prison, and Diaz will be at large.
According to show runner Beth Schwartz, he’ll be even more crazy when he appears in season 7.
“He’s coming back even stronger and a little more unhinged. He’s more the Dragon this season than Diaz.”
Diaz will be back along with the Longbow Hunters when he returns, a deadly trio of assassins with Team Arrow as their target.
Season 7 of Arrow premieres on Monday, 15th October 2018
