King Ezekiel Faces Dire Consequences at the Hands of Negan in ‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason 8 Sneak Peek

Spoiler Alert!  The following contains spoilers from season 8 of The Walking Dead.

King Ezekiel Faces Dire Consequences at the Hands of Negan in ‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason 8 Sneak Peek

We are just days away from a brand new episode of The Walking Dead and, as we prepare to pick up with the midseason finale left off, tensions are running high, especially for King Ezekiel.

The first half of season 8 was rough, to say the least, for the King.  He lost his companion Shiva and led his followers into a death trap where they ended up sacrificing themselves to save him.  He became a broken down man but in the midseason finale, we saw the King beginning to return.

He basically ended up sacrificing himself, in return, in order to save those who were with him at the time.  The group fought off the Saviors but Ezekiel ended up captured.  Still fighting but captured none the less.

The below sneak peek at the upcoming midseason premiere shows us an interesting encounter between Savior Gavin and King Ezekiel.  Gavin straight up tells Ezekiel that Negan is going to kill him, however, Ezekiel has no response.  This exchange happens a few times before Gavin gets right into Ezekiel’s face and tells him there’s nothing he can do to stop Negan from killing him.  Ezekiel, finally responding, says, “I buried my people to freedom.  What befalls me now matters not.”  Gavin tells him it does matter and that he actually kind of liked Ezekiel until Rick’s plans ruined that because here they are and now Ezekiel is going to die.

The twist of the clip is Ezekiel’s response.  He says, “I made a choice I could live with.  Now it’s your turn to do the same.”

Check out the clip below:

Will Ezekiel make it out of Negan’s clutches alive?  Will Gavin make a choice to let King Ezekiel live?  The midseason premiere will reveal all.  The episode is titled Honor and will have an extended runtime clocking in at 82-minutes long.  The episode is directed by Greg Nicotero with an official synopsis which reads:

”Rick faces new difficulties after a battle. Meanwhile, the fight continues in other communities as core members face hard decisions.”

The Walking Dead was recently renewed for a 9th season at AMC with a brand new showrunner Angela Kang at the helm. The series will return for the second half of season 8 starting on February 25th at 9 PM EST on AMC.
