First firing up fans with a blog post made after the passing of legendary comic creator Stan Lee, Bill Maher continues to flaunt his anti-comics attitude. During the latest episode of his HBO series Real Time With Bill Maher, Mr. Maher repeated his sentiment that adults “who continue to read comic books are childish“, even taking a stab at the fashion of well known comic book fan and beloved filmmaker, Kevin Smith. While social media lit up with passionate responses in support of Mr. Smith, Kevin simply took it all in stride as he tweeted a humorous retort…
Yes, @billmaher took a shot at me during his show last night, in the midst of his latest rant about @TheRealStanLee and adults who like comic books. No, I’m not mad at all. Bill may talk tough but he’s a stoner like me and a real pussycat when confronted: https://t.co/LRNdNeI2vr pic.twitter.com/VEf3fYi3b4

We are all entitled to our opinions but why degrade others to express it. I get it, Bill Maher doesn’t like comics. Well, I don’t care for talk shows but feel no need to attack those that do. While Kevin had every right to defend himself over the childish remark, he chose to set an example and not get sucked down the rabbit hole of negativity. Thank you Kevin for being the ‘adult’. 😉
