Kevin James is probably best recognized for his film roles in Paul Blart: Mall Cop, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Grown-Ups, and Zookeeper.
He’s appeared in several hilarious TV series, such as The King of Queens and Kevin Can Wait. James is both hilarious and generous, and he also has a not-so-hidden affection for a vampire/werewolf story… called Twilight.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant about Home Team, James’ next film with Taylor Lautner, the Twilight saga was discussed.
Lautner, who played Jacob Black in the Twilight movies and was a straight-up hunk.
If you recall the days when Twilight was all the rage, you probably remember lines being drawn in the sand over whether you were Team Edward or Team Jacob, as well as all of the T-shirts and sweatshirts worn to show which side you were on.
Since then, we’ve all matured, but our devotion to Twilight hasn’t died away. In the interview, Lautner referred to the Twi-Moms — adult fans of Twilight who aren’t teenagers anymore yet remain devoted followers.
Lautner wonders about the Twi-Dads, or men who pop their popcorn and settle in to watch Bella, Edward, and Jacob’s journey.
Lautner: So Twi-moms, they’re a big group. Twi-moms are some of our most passionate fans and we were saying that KJ should start the Twi-DADs.
James: Yes. Can I do that?
Lautner: Yeah, you can be like the President of them.
James: I’m officially doing that right now. I’m not even kidding. I am officially now putting it down and we are going to work on it.
With Lautner and James on the case, we predict it won’t be long before the Twi-Dads take over the fandom, and we’re anticipating a new round of merchandise to go with it.
You can watch Lautner and James in Home Team on Netflix.
