Kevin Feige Isn’t Impressed With Alfred Molina For Spoiling Doc Ock’s Return!

We’ve all heard by now that Alfred Molina is returning to reprise his role as Doc Ock! Apparently, he really shouldn’t have been talking about it. Kevin Feige isn’t impressed with Alfred Molina for spoiling Doc Ock’s return… even though everyone basically already knew!

Feige recently spoke to ET Online about the upcoming Black Widow release. By the way, in case you forgot, Black Widow is coming out pretty soon! The film is, by all accounts, a really awesome spy thriller. It’ll also introduce whoever the new Black Widow is (it’s definitely Yelena).

Anyway, while speaking with the outlet, he was asked about the future of the MCU. Normally, Feige probably wouldn’t say too much. Probably something along the lines of “Wait and see.” Not this time though, this time he referred them to someone else.

The specific question was actually about Julia Louis-Dreyfus now that The Falcon And The Winter Soldier has been released. He responded with “You should ask Alfred Molina” which is, like, the biggest oof I’ve ever seen.

So, he doesn’t actually seem that upset. We don’t doubt that he’s not happy that Molina revealed his involvement, but he really didn’t seem that upset. It looked more like a good natured jab than a full-on attack!

What he’s referring to, in case you don’t know, is an interview Molina did with Variety. In this interview Molina didn’t even try to hide his return to the Spider-Man franchise, saying that the internet pretty much already knew.

“When we were shooting it, we were all under orders not to talk about it, because it was supposed to be some great big secret. But, you know, it’s all over the internet. I actually described myself as the worst kept secret in Hollywood!” he told Variety

He then went on to discuss how awesome it was to return to Otto Octavius, ““It was wonderful. It was very interesting going back after 17 years to play the same role, given that in the intervening years, I now have two chins, a wattle, crow’s feet and a slightly a slightly dodgy lower back.”

Then, finally, he discussed the difficulties in coming back to a role 17 years later “He just looked at me, and said, ‘Did you see what we did to [Robert Downey Jr.] and [Samuel L. Jackson]? I don’t have the same physicality that I had 17 years ago. That’s just a fact. I then remembered that it’s the tentacles that do all the work! My basic physical move as Doc Ock, as the actor, is just this.” He put on a mean face, “I just do that a lot, and the arms are doing all the killing and smashing and breaking. I’m just going” and he glared here, “with a kind of mean look on my face… It was fantastic.”

So, Feige isn’t impressed with Alfred Molina… But it doesn’t seem that bad! Are you excited for Spider-Man: No Way Home? Because we definitely are! Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
