Katie Holmes Books Leading Role in New Fox Pilot
It looks like Katie Holmes may be making a triumphant return to TV as she has just signed on to star in and executive produce a new drama on Fox from Ilene Chaiken (Empire).
The untitled series would follow Holmes as FBI Special Agent Hazel Otis who “is in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when a personal indiscretion – an affair with a prominent general – shatters her life and threatens her career at the FBI. Now labeled “the mistress,” Hazel Otis – wife, mother, patriot – begins to rebuild her personal life and professional reputation.” It will be written by Chaiken and Melissa Scrivener Love.
The series would mark Katie’s first role as a series regular since her teenage drama series Dawson’s Creek, which ran from 1998-2003. She has had smaller TV credits over the years though including How I Met Your Mother, Ray Donovan, and The Kennedys miniseries.
What do you think about the plot of the new series? Is it something you might tune into if it gets picked up? Let us know!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
