Justin Lin’s ‘Fast X’ Resignation May have been Caused by Vin Diesel

After news broke that director Justin Lin had unexpectedly dropped out of Fast X while production was already underway, the fingers of blame and suspicion immediately pointed at Vin Diesel, the star and producer.

Given that the tank top enthusiast is the major cause why Dwayne Johnson refuses to reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in The Fast Saga, even though he continues to be interested in creating a sequel to his spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw.

When you combine that with the many years of reports detailing the long-standing Dominic Toretto was either difficult to work with, or overly eager to exercise as much power and control over the franchise’s future as possible, it’s easy not to come to such a conclusion.

As of yet, neither Lin nor Universal have given an official reason for Lin’s departure, but the NY Daily News says he is the actual cause Fast X is now looking for a new director twelve months before release, with a Fast & Furious producer providing his unauthorized insight.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. Lin’s giving up $10 or $20 million. Diesel shows up late to the set. He doesn’t know his lines. And he shows up out of shape.”

Fans have already started making jokes about how the recent behind-the-scenes clip of Lin and Diesel appeared more like a hostage situation than a pair of friendly creative collaborators, but we’ll have to wait for the real story.
