Justin Hartley is taking a break from making us cry on This Is Us to make us laugh in his new upcoming comedy from Universal titled Little! Saturday Night Live! alum Rachel Dratch is also set to star alongside Mikey Day, Black-ish’s Marsai Martin, Issa Rae, and Regina Hall. Luke James and Tone Bell are currently in talks to join the cast as well
Written by Camilla Blackett, Little follows “a woman who gets the chance to relive the carefree life as her younger self when the pressures of adulthood become too much.” So, it sounds like it’s in a similar vein to the Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo 2004 film 13 Going on 30, which found a thirteen-year-old girl having the opportunity to experience life in her thirties. Tina Gordon will be directing the film with Will Packer, James Lopez, and Kenya Barris all producing.
Hartley will soon be reprising his role as Kevin Pearson on NBC’s This Is Us, where he is fresh of an Emmy worthy season. The series follows a family through the decades and brings millions of sappy viewers to tears each week. This Is Us returns for season 3 in September!
Dratch will be teaming back up with some other SNL alums when she appears in Amy Phoeler’s upcoming Netflix movie Wine Country alongside Paula Pell, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, and Tina Fey.
What are your thoughts on Little? Will you be happy to see Hartley in a more comedic role?
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
