‘I like can’t even with this’ news! There’s currently a lot of exciting announcements coming out of this week’s Cinema Con and thankfully one of them was about last years box-office smash Jumanji: Welcome to Jungle. The Dwayne Johnson reboot managed to rake in over $400 million domestically and is quickly approaching $1 billion globally, so it was no surprise when Sony almost immediately announced a sequel, and now we finally know when to expect it!
via Sony PicturesSony’s Tom Rothman revealed that Dr. Bravestone and Co. will be swinging back into theaters Christmas 2019, which pits them against some stiff competition with Star Wars: Episode IX. However, Sony probably sees that as no competition seeing as Jumanji managed to hold the top spot at the box office for four weekends while competing against Star Wars: The Last Jedi last year.
In addition to Johnson, the film also starred Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas. Are you excited to see the gang get back together for a new Jumanji?

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
