Judd Apatow Returns to Stand-Up for a New Netflix Special
Judd Apatow fans are in for a treat this December as he is returning to the stage for the first time since 1992 for a new Netflix stand-up comedy special!
Netflix announced the news on Monday alongside a trailer for the special, which features Apatow talking to other popular comedians about his move to in front of the camera. It includes Amy Schumer who automatically assumes that he is doing a scripted show and Chris Gethard of The Chris Gethard Show who mirrors some advice Apatow once gave him. “The best piece of advice you ever gave me was, … ‘You might as well go for it, you’ve got nothing to lose. I feel like…you have so much to lose.”
The unsupportive banter continues throughout the clip, which is all in good fun due to the fact that Apatow’s comedic film catalog is iconic and has made him a household name. He’s written and directed a slew of movies including This Is 40, Funny People, Knocked Up, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin and produced movies like Bridesmaids and Step Brothers.

Are you excited about the special?
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
