The Sword in the Stone is the latest film to get a live-action twist, and it has found its director.
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo signed on to direct Friday, and we know him best from directing 28 Weeks Later. He’s also directed numerous Spanish films.
Sword in The Stone is a fantastical film that came out in 1963, just before the death of Walt Disney. It explores the life of King Arthur, as he works with Merlin to become his best.
Speaking of Merlin, it was announced earlier this month that Merlin will also be getting his own new saga.Ridley Scott is in talks to direct that story.
Bryan Cogman wrote the script for Stone, a writer and producer on Game of Thrones.
Directors really are the heart of films and are often times they are their legs, so with his dark directing past, Sword in The Stone will surely be intense.
