Arrow season five continues to grow!
Deadline is reporting that Josh Segarra will be joining the cast as a series regular for the fifth season. Segarra will be playing Adrian Chase, Star City’s newest District Attorney. Chase will be an ally in city government for Oliver as we’ll be seeing Oliver in his mayoral role and continue his mission to help Star City in the aftermath of the season four finale’s grand battle.
Vigilante was first introduced in New Teen Titans in the early 1980s. In the New Earth DC Comics universe, Adrian Chase is also a D.A. but begins to don a costume and seeks justice as the Vigilante after a mob family plants a bomb, killing his wife and children. He is an expert marksman and skilled at hand-to-hand combat, skills he shares with the Green Arrow. Chase managed to maintain his double life until he was outed by a news crew in an issue.
It will be interesting to see how long before we see the Vigilante emerges on Arrow and how the team will react to another masked vigilante’s appearance.
Segarra’s credits are varied from television to film and Broadway and includes Chicago P.D. and Sirens, Trainwreck, as well as his most recent stint as Emilio Estefan in On Your Feet, currently on Broadway.
Segarra joins the recently announced Rick Gonzalez as new additions to the Arrow cast. Echo Kellum (Curtis Holt) was previously announced to have been promoted to series regular.
