Two-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Janet McTeer will be lending her incredible talent to season two of the Netflix hit series Jessica Jones. According to EW, the acclaimed actress will play what is being described as an “undisclosed character who will have an enormous impact on Jessica’s life.”
Fans are already speculating that a plot twist could see McTeer playing Jessica’s mother, who was presumed dead all through the first season. No matter the role McTeer assumes in the narrative, it’s apparent that the team behind Jessica Jones is excited to have this caliber of talent on the show:
“We couldn’t possibly be more excited to work with Ms. McTeer for our second season. Her gravitas and authenticity are the perfect ingredients for all we’re trying to create this year. She disappears into roles, gives her characters extraordinary dimension and depth. We’re incredibly fortunate to be able to collaborate with her,” said series creator Melissa Rosenberg.
McTeer’s casting is the first major addition to season two of Jessica Jones. Production is set to begin later this month.
