Jessica Chastain eyeing up role of Beverly in ‘IT: Part 2’

IT: Part 2 follows the lives of the ‘Losers Club’ kids, twenty seven years later. When the all too familiar disappearances and murders begin, they are all reminded of the promise they made as kids… to come back to Derry, Maine if IT were to return.

While no casting has been set, or even rumored as of yet for the sequel to the blockbuster there are some celebrities who are already excited just thinking about the idea of taking part in the film. One of those celebrities, is Jessica Chastain. You may recognize her from her work previously with Any Muschietti, in his chilling film Mama.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Chastain revealed that she’d love to play Beverly.

“Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so… Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”

Looking at photos of Jessica Chastain next to Sophia Lillis (Young Beverly), there are some similarities that cannot be ignored. In a recent interview with Variety, Director Andrew Muschietti offered up his own opinion on the casting of the adult character.

“Jessica is an amazing actress and a very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly. She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen. There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now.”

While nothing is confirmed just yet, we believe that Jessica would make a fantastic addition to the film if she were to take on the role of adult Beverly!
