May contain spoilers of Avengers: Infinity War.
We all missed Hawkeye in Avengers: Infinity War, and we had a lot of questions about where he would be. Then, when we saw the movie, we knew he made a deal with the government so that he could be with his family. Even though it made sense that he wasn’t there to fight because of the things that happened at the end of Captain America: Civil War, we still missed his dry humor on the screen.
A few hours ago, the man himself, Jeremy Renner, posted a picture of him in his Hawkeye suit.
“Got this feelin I need to SUITup soon …. #comingINhot#missmyfriends #lovemyfamily #marvelous#hawkeye #nestunknown”
Now, if he is talking about Avengers 4, this could also mean something else. Remember that the Black widow movie landed their female director, and they already were working on a script at the beginning of the year. We guess that we will be able to see him in Avengers 4 and the Black Widow movie. What is the Black Widow movie without Hawkeye?
Kevin Feige sat down with io9 a few months ago, and he said that letting Hawkeye sit this one out was probably “one of the best things that ever happened to Hawkeye.”
“We [at Marvel] love Hawkeye. There are big, big story things coming up for Hawkeye and Jeremy Renner is as strong an actor as anyone in the MCU and awesome as this character. But ‘The guy with the bow and arrow jokes’, right? There are a lot of ‘Guy with bow and arrow jokes.’ He even makes ‘Guy with a bow and arrow’ jokes in some of the movies. So I love that people go from ‘Oh, Hawkeye is just lucky to be there’ to ‘Oh where is he? He’s not there? Whats going to happen? We need Hawkeye. We want more Hawkeye.’ I love it. It’s the best.”
Not a lot is known from Avengers 4 and what the remaining people their role is going to be, but I’m sure we’re going to love Clint Barton to be back.
Avengers 4 arrives in theaters on May 3, 2019.
