Jeremy Renner Joins ‘Spawn’ Reboot
Recently, there have been rumors that Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner was among the prospects of starring in Todd McFarlane’s Spawn reboot. We know now that Renneris in, and he will be starring alongside Jamie Foxx as Detective ‘Twitch’ Williams.
Deadline reported Monday that Renner is going to star in the film. It will be directed and written by Spawn’s creator, Todd McFarlane. Detective Williams, will portray Spawn’s possible only human friend in his quest to stop evil.
“We needed as strong a person as possible because he will be the face of the film. I took my naïve Hollywood approach again, and said let’s start at the top and work down. Jeremy was at the top.” Said McFarlane.
According to McFarlane, the Spawn/Williams duo is just like the King Arthur and Sir Lancelot duo. The two form an effective team, just in the same way that Batman and Detective Gordon do. With Foxx and Renner now cast in the lead roles, Blumhouse’s Spawn movie has turned into the next big comic book movie to look forward to.
Currently, we still do not know the Spawn reboot date but we expected it to start production as soon as possible. The rumored budget is about $10-12 million.
