The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a busy man. The actor has been cast to star in SwingLake Entertainment’s Walkaway Joe, along with The Bourne Ultimatum‘s David Strathairn.
The film began production in Louisiana last month and will be directed by Tim Wright and will also star Julian Feder and Julie Ann Emery.
The story follows young boy Dallas, who goes on a bicycle search to find his father who abandoned his family. Wrestler Joe Haley with a past he’s a bit ashamed of, finds the boy and concerned for his well being, takes him in.
The film is being produced by Rachel McHale, Minor Childers, and Milillo.
Straithairn has appeared in various series roles including on McMafia, The Blacklist, and The Expanse and Alphas, and has appeared in such films as Lincoln, The Bourne Ultimatum, and The Tempest.
Negan fans, before you panic, this isn’t the first time Jeffrey Dean Morgan has bounced to other projects while still filming The Walking Dead. In fact, he worked on the Dwayne Johnson blockbuster Rampage, which came out this year.
So far, Negan hasn’t appeared this season on The Walking Dead, but it’s only a matter of time.
