The new Halloween film just got a whole lot more legit!  On Friday, Blumhouse dropped some major news that the Queen of all Scream Queens Jamie Lee Curtis will be reprising her role as Laurie Strode for the newest incarnation of Halloween which is currently in development.

Blumhouse broke the news via their social media with a tweet that reads, “Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode in HALLOWEEN, released by Universal Pictures October 19, 2018. #HalloweenMovie”

Curtis herself delivered the news to fans as well.  She sent out the same photo to her social media pages with a caption saying, “Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween.

The film will be directed b David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) with a script co-written by Danny McBride.  John Carpenter will executive produce the film along with Green and Rough House Pictures.

This is HUGE news for Halloween fans.  Curtis originated the role of Laurie Strode in the 1978 classic horror film and continued to play the role in Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002).  Most recently, she starred on Ryan Murphy’s campy horror comedy Scream Queens which was sadly canceled earlier this year.

We are THRILLED with the announcement that Jamie Lee Curtis will be returning for the new film.  What do you think about Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role in Halloween one last time?  Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
